YOU REALISE IT'S HUMAN BEFORE THE GENDER?
Before I start I'll have to give credit to someone for helping me choose a title for this blog. One person I love learning from))
This is not a write up for feminism and even if it was it shouldn't matter.
So most people have this mindset that a man and a woman can't be treated or looked at the same way. They believe that the woman is or should be the substitute option. Well it was out of Adam's ribs that God created Eve so we can understand them for thinking that way. But the thing is, if God wanted, he could have made Eve just the same way he made Adam. But the question is "Why did God create Eve differently?" Perhaps there's a lesson he wants to teach us.
Equality between men and women, entails the concept that all human beings, both men and women, are free to develop their personal abilities and make choices without limitations set by stereotypes, strength, gender roles or skills. It means that the different behaviour, aspirations and needs of women and men are considered, valued and favoured equally.
It does not mean that women and men have to become the same, but that their rights, responsibilities and opportunities will not depend on whether they are born male or female.
There has to be fairness of treatment for women and also for men, according to their respective needs.
Before God created Eve, He said "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make a helper who is just right for him"(Gen.2:18)
So which means God created Eve as "a helper fit for him." Now note that the term "helper" doesn't indicate a lesser role or status, but rather function. Which means women were created with a function.
There is a saying that what a man can do a woman can also do. Well I believe it also works the other way round, what a woman can do, a man can do same. I know you might start thinking about the aspects of women cooking and cleaning. The thing is men could also do that. Remember that the best chef in the world today is not a woman. Gordon Ramsay is not a woman but he's a high profiled chef, the best in the world! There are men that are better than women in aspects where the woman should be better if you think cleaning and cooking is a big deal.
Women have been brought to a level where they can't speak or act without looking at their status or the fact that they're females. That's why today we have things like feminism where some women speak out for other women that are not able to speak for themselves or are being criticized to practice their rights.
So these women speak for women's rights to bring strength and assurance to the ones that can't and don't have the courage to.
Also according to a study that was carried out which I read of, it says men are disadvantaged in 91 countries compared to 43 nations for women.
Which means men also face these things but it doesn't mean it's right. Of course it shouldn't be.
You know in this life, the only thing that should matter to us, the only thing that should be important to us is what our creator says because he created us male and female and he knows why he did that. He didn't create us for the males to look down on the female or for the females to do so to the males. In fact gender inequality shouldn't be our decision to make because we're not the creators of the genders. Now let's see what the creator says about this.
It says in Gal.3:28; "There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Now tell me, whose opinion matters when the creator himself has made it clear that he's against inequality of any kind.
Mind you, this doesn't only go to male and female, even in the case of leaders and the people they are given to lead and teach some certain things. Someone once said a leader is also a servant. You have to serve others as a leader and that's the same role of a servant.
If you want to gain respect from others, show them and teach them that it's also not wrong to serve others. In a family, the men are seen as the leaders or head of the family and society too. As leaders, they should portray those good examples and serve others.
It is said that men like to be respected while women like to be served. Well in that case, if things are treated the right way; then both parties are benefiting one way or the other. The men serve when needed while the women give the respect needed.
The bible says in Gen.1:27; men and women are equal in God's eyes, in that both men and women are created in the image and likeness of God. All that should be important to us is the way God sees us. After all men and women are also equally sinners in need of grace and salvation. So no one is more special or important than the other.
This gender equality goes down now to the discrimination a lot of people face today. Well yes, physically we can't completely say women are equal to men. Women may have been created to be fragile, but not weak. We do anything we put our minds and energy to.
And same for men. I've noticed a lot from the male friends I have; they work harder for whatever they have strong interest in. Life is amazing to be honest. Live the best of it, show love, help people, be nice to people and most of all love God and you'll enjoy it all.
God has chosen distinct roles for both men and women that they may complement each other in a way that most glorifies himself.
Men and women should work together, show love and respect to each other, each fulfilling their respective, distinctive roles, for the common goal of glorifying God. That's all that should matter.
